3D Printed Smart Luminous Artifacts

The Additive Manufacturing (AM) industry is investing more and in 3D Printing, which has opened new paths opportunities the field of Smart Manufacturing, providing previously unfathomable technological innovations every sector. This paper presents a robust methodology approach to empower users through low-cost Do-It-Yourself activities for rapid prototyping Luminous Artifacts using different AM technologies as follows: a) Stereolithography (SLA) was used fabrication printed transparent artifact optical resin, b) multi-functional ink-jet circuit printing silver nanoparticle inks on plastic substrates producing hybrid Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) with unique geometry interconnect architecture various levels component embedding, c) Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology electronics housing. In case PCB electrodes, process optimization study performed at annealing temperatures 180, 200, 220 ℃ 30 min. macro- micro-morphology electrodes were investigated by Stereo-Microscopy Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) respectively, while electrode thickness calculated exploiting auto-focus track tool inVia Raman Spectroscopy. customised parts assembled under simplicity low power consumption, create Artifacts, are combined advanced IoT functionalities order be controllable via Wi-Fi Bluetooth user-friendly mobile application. ideal being followed educators high schools, colleges universities train students engineers co-creation co-design digital manufacturing technologies.
